I really like this new Android TV Box!
Sure, it's priced at $139.99, which might seem a bit steep. But when you compare it to devices like the Amazon Fire TV Cube or NVIDIA Shield, it seems reasonable.
At first glance, I wouldn't change a thing about it.
Many people complain about the limited storage on Fire TV and Android TV/Google TV boxes. Some argue that 32GB might not be enough, This storage is mainly for apps and their data. It should be enough for most people. You can add more storage using the USB ports or Micro SD slot.
Android TV 11 OS
The MECOOL KM2 PLUS Deluxe runs on Android TV 11 OS. It has the Google TV interface.
4K HDR Ultra HD
Like many streaming boxes, this Google TV box supports 4K HDR. I put it to the test with popular free streaming apps. I also tested it with Netflix and Prime Video. All them played without any buffering issues.
Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos
The PLUS Deluxe is not the same as the old KM2. It has Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. This improves the quality of the audio and visuals.

MECOOL added a cool feature. They included an app. This app lets us change the four buttons at the bottom of the remote. It's awesome! We can re-map the YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, and Google Play buttons. We can use them to open other apps we want.

Chromecast works on this device. This is great for people who like to cast videos or photos from their phones, tablets, PCs, and more.
I tested it a lot with my Google Pixel 7 Pro. It worked perfectly with no problems at all.
Playing games on TV Box
Connect a Bluetooth controller. This will transform the Android TV Box into a gaming machine.
I tested a few games I bought from Google Play, and they all worked well. I didn't play any games that need a lot of CPU power because I'm not a big gamer. To do serious gaming on streaming devices, get the NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro.

I installed NordVPN, Kodi, TiviMate, SmartTubeNext, and Launcher Manager. All them worked well.

This Android TV Box is fantastic!
The NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro is stronger than the SHIELD TV. This might be too much for most people who only want to stream. The SHIELD is perfect for games that need a lot of CPU power. This box is good for streaming movies, TV shows, and live channels.
My main gripe is the absence of USB 3.0 ports, which would have been handy for connecting external hard drives.
The download speeds are very fast. They are a pleasant surprise. They come from both the WiFi 6 chip and Gigabit port. In the video, during the download tests, it is the fastest I have ever seen.
The main concern with MECOOL is that we might not see too many system updates. But, some argue that's not a bad thing. Let's be honest, how often have you seen an Android TV update that made you go, "Wow"? Usually, it's the opposite. They remove things that used to work, like storage file permissions.
